Since we built our house and moved in a couple years ago I’ve been really struggling to find things to fill all these empty walls and organize effectively! We have a difficult time finding things we like and when we do, it’s a ridiculous amount of money! Since we first looked at the house plans I had “ideas” of what I would do with some of the different rooms but it’s definitely a labor of love and I’ve learned to be patient with the fact that it will all come together…eventually! Most recently, there have been two spaces that have been driving me crazy! My laundry room and the dining room/Luke’s playroom. It always looks so disorganized and I dread going into the laundry room not to mention that our dining room hasn’t looked like a dining room all summer (more like storage)! Over the weekend, I had a few ideas planned to organize these rooms and even though it took a couple of stores, a couple of meltdowns from Luke and Julian and I nearly strangling each other dealing with the tantrums while everyone stares at you in the middle of the store I managed to find exactly what I was looking for…at Target! Here are the before pictures:
At Target, I managed to find these great laundry organizers for about $30/each! No more sorting and no more messy floors! Even Luke is having fun putting dirty clothes in his own little hamper -brilliant! We do have plans to put a counter top over the hampers and above that a couple cabinets/rails for hanging clothes…eventually!
The fun car/fire trunk looking bean bag was about $20-25 and the pillow was $10!
He came down the next morning and was so excited to sit in the bean bag and read his books! The stuffed animals are all over the house so it’s nice to have a fun place for them to hang out! Needless to say I feel like a new woman with a little more organization in my house! It’s the little things that help make your life a little easier, don’t forget to take a time out and do something to make your life a little easier this week!
What are YOUR favorite ways to organize around the house?!
