I hope everyone had a great weekend – despite the HEAT and humidity that never seems to end Julian and I had a few celebrations this past week – it was my birthday and it was our 5th wedding Anniversary! We celebrated on Friday with birthday tickets he surprised me with to one of my fav bands – Rascal Flatts! So we braved the heat wave, with sweat dripping off us and watched an awesome concert while we kissed, danced and held very sweaty hands through our favorite songs! It was a great way to celebrate – and we weren’t sure if we were so happy from feeling like newlyweds or just feeling light headed from the heat! ha!
Saturday was my mom’s birthday and we had a nice breakfast with her to celebrate with the family and we spent the afternoon trying to get some sleep! I spent Sunday trying to get caught up with some cooking I had wanted to do which included, corndog muffins for Luke, granola bars for healthy on-the-go snacking, and home made pop tarts with my new pastry press from Williams Sonoma!
Honestly, I wouldn’t give these pop tarts as a breakfast option – even as home made as they are without any of the “junk” that’s in the store bought pop tart. Anything with icing, as a rule isn’t a good start to the day in our house. Julian and I did have one after dinner last night to taste them and they are delicious! I got the pastry press from William Sonoma for only $9.95!
So now I want to hear about YOUR weekend! Do anything fun or perhaps you enjoyed having a quiet weekend?
