Months ago I took this picture:
YIKES! My desk area became a dumping zone and it got worse, trust me! You couldn’t even see the bottom of my desk under the stacks of papers and then when I ran out of room…yup, I used the chair! I had been wanting to go through it all and really get it organized but I knew it would take time and something I’ve had to get used to after having my little guy is learning to do my “projects” in phases. I would much rather take the time and get it done and I find it frustrating having to stop just when I’m getting started.
So finally, I just started on this “pit of papers” and started going through it all and I did it in three phases. “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time…”
The end result:
I actually have a place to “work” – amazing!! In the before picture you can see my framed tags from running my first two races – 5K and 10K that my husband framed for me for Christmas last year, it’s great to see it hanging on the wall! I have a picture that I need to frame of Jennie and I running across the finish line that I’ll hang next to it! I’m also thinking it would be nice to paint that back wall a bright color….hmmm…..
Oh and it’s also worth mentioning that I got the two orange boxes from IKEA for like $6 and I had a stack of magazines that I save that I got a matching magazine file for only $3.99! It really helps keep all the stacks of paperwork out of sight and organized by subject with labels. If you’re looking to get organized head on down to IKEA (if you don’t have one local to you…go online and have it shipped directly to your door!)
What are your organizing projects you’re working on?
