Jennie and I have been enjoying a new class we started taking a couple of weeks ago at The West Chester Academy of Music and Dance with the boys! We take the Music Pups class which includes ages birth to 4 years old, this is great to allow siblings in the same class for a lot of families!
Music Pups classes provide the earliest opportunity for musical training for children birth to age 4. Research has shown that early childhood is the critical time for music development in music as in language. Musical aptitude – the ease with which a child learns music – fluctuates in the first few years of life in response to the quality of a child’s music environment. Children in a stimulating music environment receive an aptitude boost, so take advantage of these critical years with Music Pups music classes for babies and toddlers! – WCAOMD
Luke really loves the class and when you sign up for it you receive a t-shirt, music book and CD of all the songs you’ll sing in class so your kids can be familiar with the songs and participate more in class! I think my favorite part of the class is the free time with the instruments! They literally dump out a bin of different instruments and let the kids have fun making music! They do offer a FREE introductory class – which I highly recommend because once you go you’ll want to go back! Here’s a short video of our last class, it’s a 45 minute class and each session is a 10 week course. They rotate through different music for each 10-week session so there’s a great variety for continued classes!
Good news parents…they also do birthday parties!! If you’re looking to celebrate a birthday, check them out!
