Since gas prices have been so high and since Julian primarily works from home I’ve been taking advantage of using our fun run around car…The Honda Civic. We have one larger “family” car and the little run around car that I’ve been using more and more since the gas mileage was so much better than my SUV. It wasn’t so bad, even with Luke in the back seat BUT when we wanted to run errands as a family and didn’t need the larger SUV it became a struggle to fit us all in and Julian had been on the search for a new “family” car to replace the Civic.
Julian did his research for months before we decided to test drive the larger version of the Civic, the Honda Accord and the Subaru Legacy. Both have great features and we have been long time Honda Customers for many years. We were so close to getting the Accord and my exact words to Julian was “the Legacy will have to blow my socks off to make me change my mind!” Well, sure enough the Subaru Legacy blew my socks off and I knew this car was the perfect fit for what we were looking for. It had so many more great features than the Accord we were looking at, including 4-wheel drive (a must for us in the Winter!), heated seats, bigger trunk space, and a better finish interior to name just a few.
We were working with Kings Subaru and we weren’t impressed with their customer service and they didn’t seem open to work with us on the price we wanted to trade in our Civic so we decided to go elsewhere and ended up going to Busam Subaru in Fairfield. The experience we had there was night and day from the previous dealer. As soon as we spoke with Myron Heggood we could tell this dealership was family owned and operated because for the first time in a long time we experienced exceptional customer service as they went above and beyond to ensure not only that we got the car we wanted but that we were happy with the sale. Myron even stayed late with us to patiently go over every part of the interior features to ensure we knew our way around the car before we left. We were so impressed with everyone we met with at Busam Subaru and will absolutely be recommending our family and friends to go see Myron at Busam Subaru!
I wanted to write about our experience at Busam Subaru because it really is possible to have a stress and drama free experience when buying a new car – you just have to pick the right dealer! I think the difference for us was that Myron was genuinely excited to sell us the car and the previous dealer was more focused on numbers which turned us away in the end. Special thanks to Myron and Busam Subaru – we had a great buying experience with you and look forward to being long time customers!
What has been your experience buying a new car? Have you shopped between dealers and had a similar experience?
