Ever since I hit the third trimester I’ve been surprised at how much I’ve had to force myself to slow down. I never had this when I was pregnant with Luke because I pretty much slept the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy so I really didn’t remember feeling so exhausted and having so much to do. I have so many projects I’m still trying to do and chase after Luke that I’ve been a little frustrated because my brain wants to do one thing and my body is running the show and reminding me to slow down! I really haven’t had too many complications this pregnancy except the marginal previa, which has now completely resolved itself so thank goodness having a scheduled c-section is off the table!
I seemed to have made it all summer without my feet swelling until the last couple weeks…go figure. Of course, when I am soaking my feet (great xmas present a couple years ago!) my little guy has got to enjoy it with me. Moms really can’t even have 5 minutes to themselves.
One thing my doula recommended was to go to a Chiropractor to have my hips adjusted to help ensure the baby is able to get in the anterior position for birth. I have been going once a week and LOVING it. My lower back was a little painful and it turned out that my right hip was rotated enough that it was creating some issues and I wasn’t even aware of how bad it had gotten!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Kim Muhlenkamp at her office in Mason called, Live Well Chirpractic Center and have been recommending everyone I know to go see her! I met her at Blue Cocoon and loved talking with her about how she specializes in relieving pain in kids and expectant moms. Her technique is so gentle and affective I can’t imagine going anywhere else. She has been great to help get me through the last trimester of this pregnancy and remind me that pregnancy doesn’t have to be painful, good Chiropractic care can make all the difference!
Going to someone like Dr. Kim is also great for infants because if a baby or child is having multiple ear infections, for example, there’s a good chance that she can help re-align things to help the ear(s) drain better instead of jumping to medicine or getting surgical tubes put in. It’s a fantastic non-invasive way to help you and your kids feel better!
Have you seen a Chiropractor before and was it a good experience?! If you are local to Cincinnati, head over to Dr. Kim – she is fantastic for people of all ages!
