I recently came across some delicious cookies at Blue Cocoon called Milk Makers. I was intrigued because the label says that by eating one or two cookies a day can help support and/or increase your milk supply while breastfeeding.
I tried the Oatmeal Choc Chip and they were amazing. A few things I really loved about these little beauties…
1. They are BIG. I love that I can eat just one and feel like I’m giving myself a sweet treat and it has all kinds of healthy extras in it to help boost my milk supply.
2. They have a dairy free version! I’ve spoken to a lot of Moms who are dairy free, especially while breast feeding. Even I went through a phase of limiting dairy because I suspected it was upsetting Emma for a short time.
3. You can also get these online and have them send you cookies individually wrapped – for us Mamas on the go this is perfection!
4. They are made with organic ingredients!
I usually pump before bed and have noticed that since I’ve started eating 1-2 of these cookies every day I did pump more milk so I really do think they work! The best part is how great they taste, they are delicious! Yes, there are many recipes online for making your own and I do plan to try them out to compare the taste to the Milk Makers because they are SO good. If the home made version of this cookie doesn’t taste as good as these I will continue to buy them! They are absolutely worth it. I love having something quick and easy in the cupboard that I can grab when I have a sweet craving, even better that they support all the breastfeeding Mamas out there!
