Believe it or not, Easter is right around the corner! This year, we will be out of town again for Easter and with that brings a lot of new adventures and FUN. We will be with family and friends in Washington DC over our “Spring Break” and Emma will be getting her baby blessing in the church Julian and I were married in which makes it even more special for us this year.
Years ago, I got Luke a cute Easter bucket but it’s a little on the small side and even though we have always kept this holiday Christ centered I have been looking at doing something a little different for the kids Easter Baskets this year. It seems like a lot of the traditional baskets I’ve look at were upwards of $25. I came across these on Etsy for only $12 personalized! When you are getting Easter Baskets for multiple kids, it adds up quickly!
And if you’re looking for inspiration to put something besides candy in your kid’s Easter Basket this year consider these instead:
- Summer gear, such as a new swim suit or sandals.
- New books, there are so many great books for kids that are Easter related! (Religious and Non-Religious!) Last year, Luke got a new Kids Bible!
- A new toothbrush and/or toothpaste – always a favorite for Luke!
- Small inexpensive toys such as: Lego or play dough
Or you can also consider getting some more natural egg dying kits – I will be experimenting with these this year since I wasn’ t impressed with the time and outcome of our egg dying with veggies last year. It took a while to boil them to get the juice and then they just sat in the cups with various colors and it wasn’t very interactive for Luke. I’m on the search for something that’s natural and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! These are Eco-Eggs and while they look like fun but they are pricey at 15.99.
And if you’re local to Cincinnati, be sure to check out all the latest and greatest Easter activities for your family! There are SO many great events this time of year and a lot them are free! I came across this website that has a huge list of what’s going on in your area!
What are your favorite Easter activities?!
