Emma is a year old now and for a while I thought this girl would never stop breastfeeding! My goal has always been a year but if she wanted to go longer I would totally respect that. Well, as usual she does things in HER own time and she has her own idea of what she needs…or wants. For a while leading up to her birthday she was only wanting to nurse once in the morning and once in the evening before bed. The week leading up to her birthday she was only wanting to nurse in the morning and this past week she has not even been interested in nursing at all. It’s thrown me for a bit of a loop because I thought she’d want to nurse for at least another month or two.
The funny part is that I’ve still been wearing my nursing bras and tanks! It’s routine I guess?! My nursing bra I’ve actually loved – it’s a bravado from Blue Cocoon and it’s the best nursing bra I’ve ever had BUT now it’s huge on me so I decided to march myself into Victoria’s Secret to get measured for something a little less practical. I walked out of the world of pure comfort, necessity and practical into the world of fancy lace and sexy underwear. I forgot what that feels like! After going down not one but two sizes from my nursing bra I finally found a great fit and I feel like a new woman! (It’s the little things for sure.) Now I need some new tanks for under my shirts that aren’t nursing tanks! Any suggestions?!
How old were your kiddos when they stopped breastfeeding and did you wish it was shorter or longer?
