I recently had the pleasure of working with the fabulous Radon Diva to get our tested for Radon. Sounds exciting, huh? I learned so much about Radon and thanks to Jenn, the creator and owner of Radon Diva, she made the entire experience fun and educational! Even Luke enjoyed learning about the “machine” the measures the Radon.
Here’s what I didn’t know…
- You can get short term or long term Radon tests. We did a 48 hour short term test that measured an average of Radon in our basement which can get into the rest of your home.
- You should get your home re-tested every 2 years, especially if it is right around the “action” level of 4 pCi/l
- Radon is the 2nd leading cause of Lung Cancer after smoking.
And here’s another post that helps break down what the results mean (best next steps): http://radondiva.com/blog/
For more information or questions, be sure to contact Jenn at Radon Diva – she is local to Cincinnati and works primarily in Warren, Butler, Hamilton, and Clermont Counties, as well as Northern Kentucky. However, you can head over to the EPA’s website for lots more information and you can search for someone local to you to come and test your home.
Jenn has a great coupon if you are interested in getting your home tested! She also works a lot in Real Estate, give her a call for all your Radon needs, she has been an absolute joy to work with!
