Get your toddlers moving! Your toddlers are always on the move, right? Well, it’s important to give them plenty of free play along with constructive tasks and movement to help develop their motor skills. Fun games are a great way to help them explore their world in a new way!
For instance, learning to balance on one foot helps them learn how to climb. You can play “Island Hop” by placing pieces of paper on the floor and helping them hop on one foot from one to the next. You can can even write numbers 1-5 on the papers and count as you hop! Sometime so simple and easy but so much fun for your toddler.
This week at The Little Gym in Mason, the kids practiced walking backwards on the balance beam with Miss Kate. This might just look like child’s play but toddlers are hard at work learning important physical skills, gaining muscle control, balance and coordination.
