What is the best way to keep the kids happy during a LONG and cold Winter? You can only do so many crafts and by the time you finish baking everything you’d like to on Pinterest you’ll be as big as a house! Naturally, when kids are kept indoors because it’s so cold out they really need to burn off some energy without running around your house wreaking havoc and making you want to lock yourself in the bathroom for 5 minutes of peace and quiet. (Maybe)
There are a few bounce houses and indoor playgrounds but what has really been our life saver this Winter has been our classes at The Little Gym. We get out of the house every week and Luke plays Lego while Emma runs around the gym having fun. The best part? They have a curriculum that’s geared toward her specific age so I feel good that she’s learning while she’s moving. Today we learned about expanding their vocabulary and helping to improve their hand eye coordination and following directions!
Want to try it at home? Here’s a fun game you can try…
Get a bean bag or small ball and have your little one sit on floor facing you.
Play a fun game of mimicking you while you place the ball on your head, then on your belly, toes, knees, behind your back, etc. Kids love watching what you’re doing and trying to mimic you while you teach them about following directions and learning body parts!
So if you are looking to see what all the fun is about and survive the rest of this miserable Winter with your kids, get entered below in the giveaway for one FREE Parents Survival Night before you find yourself locked in the bathroom! (Your kids will thank you.)
