There is so much family fun happening around Cincinnati this Summer and it’s impossible to fit it all in! I recently took Luke to check out Brazee Street Studios and I’m here to tell you this place needs to be on your Summer Bucket List. I loved the one on one time with Luke to sneak away and try something new. Brazee Street Studios has an amazing School of Glass program for kids with different themes each month. Every Saturday in June you can go to one of their open houses and make one of these beautiful fish!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brazee and can’t believe it’s taken us so long to find such a gem in this great city! Brazee offers kids such a unique experience to work with glass and use their imagination to create such beautiful masterpieces. Each class is age appropriate to ensure kids are learning new things and using raw materials in a fun creative way! We have fallen in love with the charm and creative outlet Brazee offers children and can’t wait to go back for another project.
Brazee offers so much to kids of various ages, be sure to check out their website for a full schedule of upcoming events. This week they are offering a fun School of Glass Story Time:
SOG Story time: Hooray for Fish
Date(s): Thursday, June 19th, 2014 Time(s): 1:30-2:15pm
Bring your little one to create art in our glass art story time! This time, we’ll read “Hooray for Fish” by Lucy Cousins, then your young artist will create a fish friend of their own. Story followed by a fused glass art activity for your budding artist. Students will use our safe glass components to create a fused glass fish inspired by the story.
Designed for 3-6 year olds.
(story and glass included)
When you make a fish you have the opportunity to have it added to the wonderful exhibit that is happening until July 26th! Go check it out, you will love seeing all the colorful fish kids have made! Luke was so excited to see his fish proudly hanging on the wall in the exhibit during the open house last week! The next exhibit reception for the glass fish will be July 11th. There’s still time for you to take your kids on Saturdays in June and their fish will be in the exhibit! Happy Summer!
