With Easter right around the corner, I’m going to show you how to create a beautiful and very cost effective table centerpiece that’s perfect for Easter and will last through Spring!
First, head over to Whole Foods in Mason and get one-two packages of Wheat Grass Seeds.
Second, find some cute pots to create your centerpiece “look”. I liked the vibrant yellow color and found these at Wal-Mart. Although you can be creative and use whatever you have at home – I also love using glass vases in different sizes so can see the dirt and grass through the glass. Get the kids involved to help plant the seeds in the dirt and talk about what the seeds need in order to grow. It’s a great educational activity for kids of all ages!
Follow the directions on the package, I actually didn’t soak my seeds and they did grow but took a little longer. You can expect to see this by day 4 or 5. It grows quickly! You have plenty of time to do this fun activity that’s perfect for dressing your table for Easter and Spring! As the grass grows, you will need to trim it with scissors to keep it at the length you prefer.
Get lots of fun Easter decorations to put in the grass, I used peeps and easter eggs but don’t stop there! Use whatever cute Easter themed decorations you have laying around! You could even use smaller glass jars and put a peep and name tag in the grass and use them as name place tags around the table for Easter dinner if you are hosting. They would make great gifts that everyone could take home and enjoy the beauty of Spring!
